Introduction

An inclusive approach to education acknowledges that all children can learn and that every child has unique characteristics, interests, abilities and learning needs. Special focus is placed on learners who may be at risk of marginalisation, exclusion or underachievement. The necessity for inclusion in education is also essential because early learning lays the foundation for future success. Research from UNESCO highlights that children lacking quality early education are more likely to face difficulties in academic achievement, employment, and social participation later in life.

Let us examine whether the educational structures in Jammu and Kashmir can meet the needs of inclusivity.
